After a delicious Cajun lunch in the Dining Capital of Texas, we decided to walk off the meal by exploring historic Oak Street in downtown Roanoke. That little stroll led us to Oak Street Pie Company, and it ended up being one of the best discoveries of the day. The smell of fresh-baked pie greeted us almost immediately, and there was no chance we were walking out without trying something. We ordered slices of pecan pie, Key lime pie, and banana cream pie, and each one had its own personality. The pecan pie was rich and deeply satisfying, with toasted, earthy pecans layered over a buttery filling that had a wonderful butterscotch-like sweetness. The Key lime pie was bright, tangy, and refreshing, with just enough sweetness to soften the citrus without overpowering it. The banana cream pie was smooth, comforting, and exactly what a classic cream pie should be. But the experience was not just about the pies. Their hospitality matched the quality of the baking. The people behind the counter were genuinely warm, attentive, and welcoming. Another local pie store's lack of consideration for the customer pushed me to find this sweet little pie shop. I ordered three pies for a family dinner, and not one disappointed. Got key lime, pecan and the blueberry. Pecan was the best I'd every had. Found my new pie shop! 🩷

Key lime pie was delightful would definitely return for another slice😋 peach cobbler was good the top crust was thick so it balanced with the heavy portion of peach filling

Made it to this wonderful establishment for pi day! They were overjoyed at THEIR day and ready to serve with great enthusiasm and joy. This made our trip across the miles super worth it. There is no comparison to their delicious treats. We were able to enjoy their outdoor seating which was an added bonus on such a lovely spring day.

I've been very eager to try Oak Street Pie Company since moving here. Tonight I tried the French Silk Pie, which is one of my favorite flavors of pie, and it was like eating sand. I tried the crust and filling separately thinking it was the crumbly crust giving it the texture. However, the filling was also gritty. Upon further inspection I could literally see the sugar crystals in the filling and crust. Hopefully the photos provided can properly show what I'm talking about. Maybe the French silk here is not as mousse-like as others, but I personally couldn't finish it. That said, I still do have a peach cobbler that I'm eager to try. The staff were wonderful and helpful. No hate to them or the place in general. I just think the French silk pie could be done better.
